Embracing Empowerment: Moving Beyond Anxious Leadership - October 7-November 8th
Pastor Kim Whetstone
As female leaders/female leaders of color we may face covert and overt ridicule, critiques and slights as we lead in our contexts. Overtime, these slights can be disorienting, causing us to become anxious and question our gifts and abilities. Through the tools of sociology, psychology, scripture and spiritual formation, we will dive into our stories, explore frameworks to help us rightly name, reframe and ground our experiences while gaining tools to help us move from anxiety to empowerment in our leadership. Some journaling and brief activities for reflection will be required between sessions.

Leading with a Chronic Illness - October 7-November 8th
Leading with a chronic mental or physical illness can feel stifling, disorienting and discouraging. The physical or emotional limitations we feel may cause us to question our capacity to lead or even disqualify ourselves from leadership, but God is the one who equips, sends and determines our leadership capacity! In this cohort we will honestly examine our leadership journeys as those navigating chronic illness and clearly define our next steps as leaders. We will learn spiritual, physical and emotional practices which will strengthen us and work together to establish a personal plan of self-care to usher us into our next season of leadership in all spheres of life. You are not alone. There is hope. God is not done. Some journaling and brief activities for reflection will be required between sessions.

Created to Lead: Exploring Trouble Texts and Women’s Leadership in the Bible - October 7-November 8th
For many female leaders, we have heard the “biblical reasons” why God “doesn’t use women to lead.” These reasons are often given with citations of Scripture. However, too often, these biblical texts have been taken out of context and discount the very important roles and leadership women have throughout Scripture. In this cohort, we will explore scriptures which have been commonly used to disempower women, place them in their historical context, and deepen our understanding of God’s design for women in leadership throughout Scripture. The truth is, you were created to lead! Some journaling and brief activities for reflection will be required between sessions.
